What It Is Like to Retire in Palmar norte

Palmar Norte is a very small town near the southern Pacific coast of beautiful Costa Rica where the Osa Peninsula begins.  Along with nearby Palmar Sur across the Rio Terraba, it is in the Osa region of Puntarenas Province. Palmar Sur has an airport with daily connections to San Jose. There are plans to expand this airport to international status and thus create increased tourism in the area, which is one of the most interesting and undiscovered parts of the country. The Osa Peninsula is home to at least half of all species living in Costa Rica; Corcovado National Park is also within the Peninsula. The Pan American Highway runs through this region. For more about retiring to this beautiful country see our retirement guide to Costa Rica. Note: Sorry, but the maps feature for countries outside of the U.S. is not working properly yet - Costa Rica is in Central America.
